Thando is walking to the shops and sees
Tamy thru the window of her dads shop |
Thando continues to the shops and runs into Simphiwe again and he
is not well |
Simphiwe is drowsy and starts to see
his ancestors and says everything is going to be ok |
Thando tries to give Simphiwe water but he doesnt drink

Simphiwe passes out

Thando goes to get help and he runs into Tamy
|
Thando and Tamy go back to check on Simphiwe
|
Tamy goes to get her dad, Thando tries
to wake Simphiwe CHILDREN OF THE FORGOTTEN ISLAND |
Tamy arrives with here father and he
asks Thando whats happened, Thando says he's not breathing |
Tamy's father checks and tells them that
Simphiwe is dead |
the police officer talks to Tamy's father |
Thando and Tamy become friends CHILDREN OF THE FORGOTTEN ISLAND |
Mama tells Thando that death is part of life and that he will see his friend again |
Tamy asks Thando to go play with her but hes not interested we soon discover that Tamy has alot of affection for Thando and she treats him like a person/friend and not like everyone else who sees him as poor/inferior |
Tamy 'gently' persuades him Tamy is the extravert and shows less fear -perhaps because she has been allowed the luxury of having parents to answer all her questions where as Thando has to discover these things on his own |
Tamy and Thando run off to play in the park CHILDREN OF THE FORGOTTEN ISLAND |
Thando tells her to close her eyes and imagine the happiest day of her life |
Tamy Smiles as her world is transformed into a beautiful open field |
Thando protects Tamy from the imaginary dragon tree! |
Tamy has to go - thando is impressed that he protected Tamy and glad that he will see her again tomorow CHILDREN OF THE FORGOTTEN ISLAND |
Thando is startled by something rustling in the bush and swings at the leaves |
Thando chops at the bush |
Thando looks around nervously |

not wasting time Thando runs away the underlining issue throughout the film is that Thando runs away from issues (until the end where he doesnt) also this is a moment where we see his fear for the 'Shadow'/warrior grow - and we see a gentler side, when he is alone. infront of Tamy and Mama he puts on a brave face -perhaps because its expected of him being 'the man of the house' - also a cultural thing |
