SONG BEGINS... 10-12 years go by, Mama gets a job, Thando is older and fixing the house |
Thando doing odd jobs to make money and attending school |
Mama is washing clothes, Thando teases Mama when ever he can to make her smile, he looks after Mama |
Thando is doing well at his studies and doing manly stuff |
...SONG ENDS Thando is older now (17) and returning from work |
thando gets home, locks his bicycle and goes inside |
Thando greets Mama with a kiss on the forehead and gives her a chocolate |
Mama talks to Thando about his father |
Thando gets upset because hes father abandoned him and Mama |
Mama gives Thando a photo and an address... Thando doesnt want it but Mama insists [a photo of baby Thando and his father and his address] |
Mama tells Thando that she is old and that her ancestors have spoken to her and everything is going to be ok she goes to take a nap |
Thando goes to make Mama some tea |
Thando looks at the photo of him and his father |
Thando takes Mama the tea |
Thando finds Mama asleep |
Mama is not asleep she has died |
Thando holds Mama |
We are at Mama's funeral and a preacher is saying some words |
Thando says some words and everyone sings |
Thando takes his tie off, he whispers to Mama that he cannot do this he feels lost and afraid of the world - feeling of being abandoned, first his mother then father now Mama |
Thando not being able to handle his emotions he runs (again) |
Thando runs thru the city pushing people out the way |
Thando comes to a stop outside a shop window and immediately recognises Tamy. She is serving a customer |
