An african baby (Thando) crawls along a path in a forest with lots of leaves and light rays cutting thru the trees. Flash back to when Thando was a baby.
CHILDREN OF THE FORGOTTEN ISLAND

as he crawls he grows and starts to walk, stumbles then continues to walk along the path

with rapid CGI growth he is now about 5 years old and running along the path (alot like the evolution of humankind).

We are now following him from behind

Thando hears a noise behind him, he stops, turns and glances over the terrain for a second
(he know that there is something following him)

LONG SHOT. We view Thando from behind a shrub as if it’s the view of someone watching him,
THANDO recognizes something (while looking into the camera)

he runs away –camera follows from watching position (pushes thru the shrubs)… camera gains on him

as he is about to be caught he pushes thru the bushes

steps through into a clearing

A car stops in a busy street, cars are rushing by, Thando is stunned, he is wearing an old shorts, tshirt.

car passes and driver shouts at him

Mama (grandmother) comes running in hysterics

camera pulls back to show that they are in a big city

Mama has a word with Thando

even though she is old she finds the strenght to walk him back to safety

Mama reminds Thando that he's in alot of trouble for playing in the street

Thundo looks into the bushes

something looks back at him...

in the beginning Thando plays hide and seek with the 'shadow'/warrior as he is young and has less fear but as he grows we see that he becomes more afraid - as we all do

Thando and Mama jump into a twelve seater taxi, however the taxi is over the passenger limit, there is a song blaring on the background.

Due to space constraints Thando needs to cramp himself against a fat lady. The fat lady is dressed in old worn out clothing, she is eating a fried mealie (corn cob) - eating it slowly.

Thando and Mama are walking in sand tracks in an open field, the field has big trees. Mama is walking with difficulty. Thando is walking next to Mama jumping up and down and swaying his arms in the air.
CHILDREN OF THE FORGOTTEN ISLAND

Thando and Mama walk to Solomon, thin old man with a scruffy beard. He is sitting behind a counter of an old shack. There is a sign hanging above the shack. SOLOMONS GENERAL DEALER, written in hand script. The shack looks old and worn out there are cans and bread on display. Thando streches to see over counter.

Thando dreams of his father leaving him - this is followed thru by Thando also running away from issues rather than staying and dealing with them

Thando wakes up from dream sequence

Mama wakes Thando up and they talk about bad dreams

Mama gives Thando some money to by food

Thando buys bread and sees a boy in an alley on his way back

The boy is suffering and hungry

Thando gives Simphiwe the bread
CHILDREN OF THE FORGOTTEN ISLAND

Thando calls out for help but no one hears him

Simphiwe eats the food and Thando tells him that his grandmother will help

Mama askes where the bread is and Thando tells her that he gave it to Simphiwe because he needed it more than them

Thando buys some more bread and gives it to Mama

Thando is playing with his sword and fighting his dragon

Thando is scared and calls out to Mama

Mama speaks to him about his ancestors and that he must respect them
