“FRANKIE”

“SYNOPSIS”
Frankie is a black man in his early thirties, neat and
conservative trying to make ends meet working in a fish
market. He is a single father looking after his son and
mother.
Frankie’s son (Leo) means the world to him, continuously
encouraging him to do his best and not let circumstances bring
him down.
Leo witnesses Frankie being beaten up by thugs. Frankie feels
worthless; however, he has no choice but to live a mundane
life trying to make ends meet.
Frankie is fired from his job and with no income to survive,
he decides to start boxing. Determined, he persuades the
trainer (Tuck) to teach him to fight.
With perseverance Frankie rises to the top beating worthy
opponents in the process meeting a new love acquaintance.
Match fixers try and persuade Frankie to throw a match.
Frankie due to his honourable character does not accept the
bookies proposal.
The bookies, given no other option kidnap Leo in an attempt to
let Frankie throw the fight. Frankie fights not for the glory
or the money but now for his son Leo. Proving you can overcome
all obstacles with strong determination but in the end
fighting for his family is more important.
